The interest rate hold is the result of voters and the Texas Legislature approving additional funding for universities.
Thanks to recent support from the Texas Legislature and Texas voters, Texas Tech University has committed to freezing tuition for the upcoming Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.
The fees for the 2024-25 academic year were approved at Thursday’s Texas Tech University System Board of Governors meeting. Texas Tech University has not increased tuition since fall 2021.
“Texas Tech University’s goal is to make world-class education more accessible and affordable,” said Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanek. “Financial barriers should not prevent anyone from achieving their goals and reaching their full potential. I want to be able to concentrate on my studies.”
Remaining sensitive to today’s economy and how students and their families are affected by inflation, Texas Tech University plans to hold housing and meal plan fees through the spring 2025 semester.
Texas Tech University is dedicated to offering competitive tuition and fees and is recognized as one of the best value universities in the country.
“Our recognition as one of the most valuable universities with a high return on investment resonates deeply with future Red Raiders and their families,” said Jamie Hansard, vice president of enrollment management. “This decision to freeze tuition fees underscores our dedication to providing quality education that not only prepares our students for the future, but also ensures affordability.”
This combination of value and financial support makes higher education dreams a reality for thousands of students across Texas and around the world each year.
