NHS Scotland’s Right Decision Service uses the Tactuum Quris platform to make clinical guidance and policy tools available to all clinicians when and where they need it.
The service is a one-off national project for Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. We support Scottish clinicians with easy access to clinical guidelines and validated decision support tools, supporting more standardized and safer care.
The Right Decision Service uses Tactuum Quris Clinical Companion software to support or host clinical guidance and policy intranets, websites and apps developed by health boards and professional services. Additionally, as a registered manufacturer, he also has a range of UK conformity assessment decision support tools developed in collaboration with InnoScot Health.
Dr Anne Wales, Program Lead for Knowledge and Decision Support at Healthcare Improvement Scotland, said: “The Scottish Government has set the goal of the Right Decision Service to provide Scotland with an unprecedented decision support platform – a single place for users to access national guidelines, local guidelines, pathways and calculators. , risk scoring tools, and other types of decision support.
“Currently, we have a single platform with a single website and a single app. We have a series of controls in place to ensure the quality of what our users see. and clinicians can choose the ones that are relevant to them.”
Tactuum’s Quris Clinical Companion has been developed specifically to help NHS health boards and trusts manage the development, governance and publication of clinical guidance and policy. It is also available offline, giving clinicians access to decision-support tools whenever they need them.

Currently, 12 local health boards, six health and social care partnerships, six national NHS boards, three national social care organizations and ten programs and networks are delivering tools through the Right Decision Service. Development of the Quris and service pipeline includes the integration of decision support into electronic health record systems and the use of AI to accelerate guideline development, management, and impact measurement.
