Optalisys, a Leeds-based company developing technology in the field of silicon photonics, which uses light instead of electricity to perform calculations, has appointed former Arm chief technology officer Dipesh Patel to its board of directors.
The appointment comes just over six months after Optalysys raised £21m in Series A funding in 2023 and is now preparing for the next stage of its technology development.
Based in California, Mr. Patel has first-hand experience in developing new technologies and bringing them to market on a global scale, having spent 25 years at UK technology champion Arm, a leading technology provider of processor IP. He currently advises on several technology investor and incubator boards.
