Four Georgia Tech researchers — alex blmenthal, Juan Pablo Correa Baena, Do Chun Heeand Daniel Genkin – received 2024 Sloan Research FellowshipOne of the highest honors for young faculty.
They are among 126 researchers selected this year from more than 1,000 nominations. The fellow will receive $75,000 over two years to advance his research.
“Sloan Research Fellowships recognize the most original and influential young scientists from across the United States and Canada,” said Adam F. Falk, president of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, which has awarded fellowships since 1955. This is a highly competitive award.” .
Since then, 55 people have been awarded fellowships from Georgia Tech, making the award one of the most prestigious awards for young researchers and a predictor of future research success. For example, 57 Sloan Fellows have won Nobel Prizes and 71 have won National Medals of Science.
Falk added: “I look forward to seeing how the Fellows play a leading role in shaping the research agenda in their respective fields.”
