Social media platforms Facebook and Instagram are back online after outage
Elon Musk mocked Meta on Tuesday after the company’s platforms, Instagram and Facebook, suffered major outages.
But this isn’t the first time the Tesla and X boss has clashed with fellow tech giant and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
After a bizarre online feud erupted last year, with the pair going back and forth on social media and taunting each other about a potential cage fight, the spat seemed to have died down. Musk appeared to reignite the feud in November.

The outage was not a cyber attack
#Cyber Attack is trending on Twitter and many people are panicking that their account has been hacked.

“Recovery from chaos”
Meta’s business status page currently shows most services as “Recovering from an outage.”
The company doesn’t run a similar page for its consumer products, but you can imagine it would say the same thing. Service appears to be recovering, if not fully back yet.

Service appears to be coming back online, but issues remain
Although more people are getting online, the problem still remains. Some people can’t get online or have other issues.
Tracking website Down Detector shows that reports of the problem are decreasing, but again, it’s not completely gone.
Also, the meta status page for business products is no longer yellow (see below). However, some will turn green to indicate “no known issues” and some will turn red to indicate “critical failure.”
