A Bristol technology company continues to expand after acquiring a London-based software company. Deazy, which was named one of the UK’s top 100 startups last year, has acquired Geektastic, a platform that helps businesses identify the best developers.
Andy Peddar’s Deazy has built a global registry of software developers that matches companies based on their requirements. His clients include RAC and Popeyes.
Rick Brownlow, co-founder and CEO of Geektastic, joined Deazy as head of vetting and quality following the transaction.
“We have been working with Geektastic since 2022 and have seen very positive results, so it makes perfect sense to welcome them to the Deazy family,” said Deazy CEO Pedder.
“We always aim to make digital delivery easier for our clients by providing them with access to the best developers and a complete product delivery team. Geektastic helps us achieve that. We know how good our developers and team are, but now we can be 100%.” We are transparent about that quality and communicate that to our clients. ”
Geektastic uses a network of expert reviewers called “Ubergeeks,” made up of 300 technologists from companies like Google, Amazon, and Accenture. Pedder said the evaluation process will be streamlined, speeding up time to hire and freeing up internal resources from the hiring process.
“Every technology leader within a company is well aware of the challenge of finding the right people to deliver their product roadmaps and projects quickly and effectively,” he said.
“I have seen far too many digital projects struggle due to cultural misfit or lack of soft skills on delivery teams. It’s going to be an integral part of our proposition: a better customer experience.” It removes potential barriers for people using Deazy’s services. ”
Mr Brownlow added: “Our methodology and proposition are a great fit for Deazy. Companies have an almost insatiable need for talented professionals in software engineering, machine learning AI, and data engineering to fill gaps within their teams. However, some recognize that working with external developers can be risky. We are eliminating that risk completely and expanding our services to include soft skills and cultural fit assessments later this year. We plan to expand.”
Deazy raises £5m in Series A funding round in 2022, with industry expert Tech Nation tipping it to expand and boost the UK economy, making the company one of its prominent growth programmes. Selected as one of 15 companies in the Southwest to participate.
