Jerod Mayo and the New England Patriots are keeping a close eye on the Los Angeles Rams’ coaching staff as they assemble their group following Bill Belichick’s departure. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breuer, the Patriots have invited Rams tight end coach Nick Caley and assistant special teams coach Jeremy Springer for second interviews.
They will have dinner with team executives Sunday night and be interviewed Monday. Keiley is being targeted for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator job, and Springer is being considered for the special teams coordinator job.

Keiley actually worked on Belichick’s staff alongside Mayo, spending time in New England from 2015 to 2022, coaching tight ends and fullbacks during his tenure. Mayo must have liked what they saw in their now 41-year-old coach. Because they’re considering him for the offensive coordinator position.
Springer just completed his second season with the Rams after eight years coaching in college at Marshall, Arizona, Texas A&M and UTEP.
