Sunrise producers have demanded that Kyle Sandilands’ microphone be replaced after he broke it during an interview with show intern Peter DePera on Wednesday.
Pete, a producer on KIIS FM’s hit show, was broadcasting live from his radio studio with Channel Seven’s breakfast show after he spotted Taylor Swift visiting a Sydney restaurant on Tuesday night.
However, while Swift was talking about what she had for dinner, Kyle walked by and threw a bucket of water at Pete, causing Pete’s microphone to stop working during the interview.
‘what happened? What happened to Mike? ” asked a confused host Natalie Barr.
“Looks like we’re underwater right now… are we not supposed to talk about this?” asked Matt Silvington.

A Sunrise producer then called Kyle and Jackie O’s show and Kyle explained that he had decided to throw water at Pete live on air.
“That microphone is worth $10,000, so it’s worth covering that bill,” the producer said.
“We’ll cover that,” Kyle replied.
Pete later admitted that he lied during an interview with Sunrise, saying he had a copy of the receipt showing what Swift ate at the restaurant.
“Please show me the receipt you had,” Jackie O. Henderson asked, revealing it was a Kmart receipt.
“In front of the Kmart receipt, there’s an actual piece of paper on which he wrote down the lie he was about to tell.”
Pete admitted: “They asked me to give them some statistics, even though they’re 100 percent made up.”
Meanwhile, Taylor literally stopped traffic on Tuesday night when she stepped out for dinner at neighborhood trattoria Pellegrino 2000 in Sydney’s Surry Hills.
After her Elas tour took Melbourne by storm and sold out three days at the famous MCG, she is currently enjoying four days of rest and relaxation in the Harbor City.
The megastar jetted into Sydney on Monday afternoon and is staying at Crown’s presidential holiday home in Barangaroo.
On Tuesday morning, her private jet will reportedly take to the skies on a flight to Honolulu to pick up her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
Travis dropped a big hint on this week’s episode of his podcast “New Heights” that he might be heading Down Under, saying he intends to “go to an island soon” and that the best place to go is “south” in the United States. He claimed that.
Additionally, next week’s podcast is a pre-recorded guest episode in which he doesn’t appear, leading fans to believe he will join his girlfriend in Sydney, possibly in the first week of March. added that he might travel to Singapore with her for her show.
Rumors are also mounting that Taylor and Travis will be enjoying a romantic getaway together in Queensland while Down Under.
Taylor will play four shows in Sydney from Friday 23rd February to Monday 26th February.
