When CBS 60 minutes First broadcast in 1968, this pioneering news program attracted a huge following with its “gotcha” style of journalism, complete with hidden cameras and ambush-style interviews.
By its own admission, the program has mellowed out over the years, but that doesn’t mean it’s fair or balanced. With vast resources and editorial control, the program still holds the cards, and just like in a casino, the house rarely (if ever) loses.
This advantage was on full display last Sunday. 60 minutes is an organization founded in 2021 with the mission of “fighting for the survival of America by uniting, educating, and empowering parents to protect their rights at all levels of government.” An interview with the co-founders of “For Liberty” was broadcast.
With its bold and outspoken mission, it’s no wonder the group provoked strong negative reactions from radical ideologues, including Scott Pelley on the CBS show. As with all of our segments, the show spent weeks, and in some cases months, researching and interviewing representatives of grassroots organizations. Selective and biased editing meant that unsuspecting viewers could see Moms for Liberty co-founders Tiffany Justice and Tina Deskovich evading some of Scott Pelley’s questions. Or, it appeared that they were avoiding it. But the full record reveals that CBS conveniently omitted key answers that exposed that liberal lie.
The interview centered on the core of the organization’s mission: exposing leftist ideology, subversive propaganda, and inadequate resources being forced on young children in public schools.
When Perry asked what ideology the school was promoting, Deskovich replied, “Let’s just say American kids can’t read.” Viewers then hear Perry’s narration. “They often got to the point and dodged the question.”
What the average viewer may not know is that Tiffany Justice previously told Perry that “gender ideology has no place in American public schools.” They didn’t know about it because CBS left it on the cutting room floor.
Megyn Kelly, a journalist and popular podcaster, appeared on air yesterday and accused CBS and Perry of deception.
“I’m ashamed of you, Scott Pelley,” she said. “You’re disgusting. You let America’s children down. I’m glad you feel so good about yourself, but my children, to use your favorite word. But you’ll end up paying the penalty for the “false information” you spread on CBS News. night. “
Kelly continued:
Do you want to know what ideology they are indoctrinated with? They are indoctrinated with racial essentialism, that they are born into a different power structure based on things like the color of their skin or their past sins, or that they have an accumulation of unrelated flaws. We are led to believe that there is.
They are indoctrinated into a gender ideology where they can choose their gender from a single digit, like on the menu at a Chinese restaurant. They are sexualized as early as elementary school, which takes a toll on their mental health and prepares them for victimization and exploitation by adults.
Some call it awakening. Some call it diversity, equity, and inclusion. But it’s very easy to explain what these teachers do. We have all lived in that situation for years. These two women know that better than anyone. Please tell America what they are doing.
Mr. Perry went on to dismiss Mr. Judge and Mr. Deskovich’s concerns that sexually explicit and mind-warping propaganda was being distributed to young children. CBS reporters hinted that it was happening, but said they had only discovered it in “a small number of lower-tier schools.”
The reality is not.
