Kelly Clarkson took to the stage to celebrate singer, actress and dancer Jennifer Lopez by singing her 1999 single “Let’s Get Loud.”

Wearing a black and white checked skirt, black tights, black rider boots and a matching black turtleneck blouse, the Grammy Award-winning singer started off Monday’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show” with Lopez It started with the song. After performing the “Kellyoke” segment, Clarkson gave some background on why the song was chosen. She said she was chosen for the show before Lopez actually signed on as a guest for that episode.
“To tell you the truth, there was this song and we were going to do this song and then we found out, ‘Oh, J. Lo is coming,'” Clarkson said. “I was like, ‘Wait, I should do it when she comes.'” I wasn’t very prepared, but I was able to pull it off. ”
“That song is so funny. I think that song is one of my favorite songs that we’ve ever done. I’m not kidding, just because of the energy.” ,” Clarkson continued, raising her hands and moving her hips. “When I sing this, I feel like I’m J. Lo. I’m like, ‘I’m so hot right now.’ I’m very cool. ”
“Let’s Get Loud” is the fifth song on Lopez’s debut studio album, On the 6, released on June 1, 1999. When Lopez joined Clarkson on the couch, the two discussed topics including her new album, “This Is Me…” now. The singer and actress called this her most “honest” music project and said it follows her third studio album, “This Is Me…Then.”
“At the time, I was in love and so inspired that I made this whole album. And it was really a capture of the moment, and kind of a weird twist of life. And we ended up reuniting for the first time in 18 years ‘later,”’ Lopez said, highlighting her romantic journey with husband Ben Affleck. “I was really inspired to go back and make music the same way.”
“This Is Me… Now,” released on February 16, is a three-part project that marks the reunion of Lopez and Affleck. It includes the album, the musical film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story” and the documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
