On the second day, jurors heard the police interrogation of Michelle Troconis, days after Jennifer Dulos' family proclaimed her innocence.
Troconis' sister claims she was not involved in Jennifer Dulos' murder, but her interviews suggest otherwise.
Jurors heard Troconis' second interview with detectives, which took place four days after his first interview.
Troconis initially said Fotis Dulos was with Jennifer Dulos the morning she disappeared.
However, in a second interview, Troconis denied it.
“I said, well, I believe he was. But now when you say he wasn't, he wasn't,” Troconis says.
In the same interview, Mr. Troconis spoke about a trip previously shown to the jury in which Mr. Fotis-Duro was seen discarding several items along Albany Street in Hartford.
Police later found bloody items related to Jennifer Dulos in the trash can.
Troconis told investigators that he did not know what happened during the trip, but that Fotis Dulos assured him that everything was okay.
“He said, 'Relax, relax, everything is fine. It's just a few minutes.' He was on the phone. He was texting. He was texting. I wasn't looking around because I was just talking,” Troconis said.
Troconis' sister is adamant that prosecutors are going after the wrong person.
“I know everyone wants answers, but my sister is not the right answer. She doesn't know anything. She's innocent,” says Claudia Troconis.
To prove that Troconis cooperated in the murder plot, police asked Troconis if he had shaved Fotis Dulos' head to hide his identity.
She replied that she had shaved her head.
The interview also revealed that police caught Troconis with another apparent lie about Fotis Dulos' phone call.
John Kimball, a former state police detective, told prosecutors that Troconis indicated his phone was at Fore Group's office, and she answered it.
Troconis suggested at one point in the interview that Jennifer Dulos was still alive and that she might have died on her own, like in the movie “Gone Girl.”
One aspect of Troconis' story that remains constant is that he doesn't know what happened to Jennifer Dalps, but he believes he will fall for Fotis Dulos.
“I'm worried that I'll be in prison forever, even though I have a daughter,” Troconis said.
Troconis could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
Fotis Dulos died by suicide in January 2020, shortly after being charged with murder.
