stamford, connecticut – Jurors in the Michele Troconis trial spent hours Thursday listening to an initial interview with police.
Prosecutors argued that Troconis was misleading and evasive.
She is responsible for helping Fotis Dulos. Cover up the murder of his estranged wife Jennifer In 2019.
In June 2019, 2 days after the first arrestTroconis left the courtroom and CBS New York's Tony Aiello called for questions.
“Michelle, are you going to do the right thing and help the police?” Aiello asked.
In the end, it turned out that she had already talked to the police the night before. Police were desperately trying to find Jennifer Dulos, the missing mother of five, and trace the movements of her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos.
Troconis, who was with Jennifer at her Farmington residence the morning she disappeared, gave statements to police after being interviewed twice. John Kimball told jurors he changed his story.
Prosecutors argued that Jennifer was misled into believing she had met Dulos the morning she disappeared. Her lawyer said Troconis was exhausted after her arrest and was struggling with English rather than her native Spanish.
“She's trying to be as accurate as possible. Keep in mind this is after being awake for two days,” said her attorney, John Schoenhorn.
During the initial questioning, detectives asked Troconis about driving to Hartford with Dulos the night Jennifer disappeared. She claimed he was busy on the phone as he stopped by at least three times to give evidence.
“For some reason, we go around and around. Why are we here?” she said in that interview.
Troconis always had his lawyer with him when speaking to police. The jury will have to listen to many more hours of questioning. Will Troconis himself state his position? Her legal team says the matter is “undetermined.”
