House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is calling on President Biden’s ghostwriters to come forward to transcribe interviews and turn over transcripts and recordings related to the writing of the president’s memoir.
Author Mark Zwonitzer helped write two of President Biden’s books, “Promise Me, Dad” and “Promises to Keep.” Last week, special counsel Robert Hur made headlines when he submitted a final report to Attorney General Garland on President Biden’s handling of classified information found in his home and private office.
The special prosecutor determined that criminal charges were not warranted in this case. The report also said President Biden knowingly retained and disclosed classified material while he was a civilian after becoming vice president. This includes sharing some notes with Zvonitzer that were classified.
Jordan demands:
All documents and communications shared between Zwonitzer and President Biden related to the work of the ghostwriter, as well as audio recordings or transcripts of interviews or conversations between Zwonitzer and President Biden related to the memoir.
Jordan also wants to schedule a meeting with Zwonitzer to discuss the matter. He asked Zwonitzer to contact the committee by February 23rd.
