Jonny Irwin admitted he felt “empowered” in the weeks before his death.
The Place in the Sun star spoke on the podcast about the alternative treatments he was using during his battle with terminal lung cancer.
Johnny, who has now tragically passed away at the age of 50, said that by “educating” himself he felt more able to face his prognosis.
Appearing in Conversation with Jane McClelland last month, the father-of-three thanked Jane for the personal advice he gave her.
Jane, author of How to Stop Cancer, offered tips on diet and other alternative health methods to get you through the dark days.
Johnny said to Jane. “I think the work you’re doing is so important because if I just listened to the prognosis that was always given to me, I would just curl up in a ball and die crying.

“But I feel much more powerful and much more educated. There is an area of support and support from the NHS is a big part of that area, but there is also little I can do. there is.

Johnny revealed that he “takes oxygen and vitamin C” to improve his health.
Podcast host Jane chimed in about the physical benefits of the practice, explaining, “Because it’s an intravenous dose of vitamin C, it bypasses the intestines and doesn’t cause diarrhea.”
The Channel 4 star claimed it made him feel “amazing” and said: I feel better after hyperbaric intake, and I feel better after vitamin C.
“These things, if I were healthy and well, I would try to use them anyway, because I’m probably a lot more open-minded because I have a gun to my head. .And that’s a rich kaleidoscope that I can help with. I’m pursuing that and will continue to do that.”
Johnny was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020, a week after filming Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun in Italy.
Tragically, the cancer has since spread to his brain, and Johnny reveals in 2022 that he has six months to live.
Tonight (Friday 2nd February) his heartbroken family revealed that he had passed away. He leaves behind his wife Jessica and three young sons.
Announcing Johnny’s tragic death, Johnny’s family wrote on Instagram:
“A truly wonderful soul, he bravely battled cancer with unwavering strength and courage. Johnny touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth and contagious spirit.
“At this time, we ask for privacy as Johnny’s family navigates this profound loss. Their loss is immeasurable and we deeply appreciate everyone’s thoughts, prayers and support. Masu.
“Let’s celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts as we remember the beautiful moments we shared with Johnny. Johnny may be gone from our memory, but his love… Laughter and memories live on.
“Rest in Peace, dear Johnny. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.”
Tributes have since poured in for the popular TV star, with the cast and crew of A Place in the Sun saying: “We will miss him terribly.”
