On TikTok, many users have documented their perilous experiences while unemployed.
Some users share their experiences of being fired without notice. Some have revealed how jobs they were verbally offered were eliminated before they even started. Another user even claimed that after applying to about 1,800 jobs and having about 430 interviews, he learned that more than 120 of the companies he interviewed with currently have hiring freezes. This claim has led some to refer to the idea of ghost jobs. .
Although the unemployment rate has remained consistently around 3.7% in recent months, that does not mean it will be easy for the unemployed to find work.
Recently, TikTok user Soweenie (@soweenie) went viral after venting her dissatisfaction with the current job market, calling her situation “fucking frustrating.” Her video has been viewed more than 3.1 million times as of Saturday.
“I just had an interview and I know the bitch isn’t going to call me back because I can’t just sit here and pretend I’m into being a fucking receptionist,” she explained. “When I was a kid, I think people used to ask me, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?'” I thought, “I want to be a receptionist.” I want to be a server. ” You think I said that? Absolutely not. “
“You need a fucking job, bitch. You know what it is,” she continues. “Do you want me to lie to you? Do you want me to lie to you that I’m passionate? I can’t do that.”
In the comments section, users shared their sentiments.
“I was unemployed for 6 months and skipped about 5 interviews because I knew the job was going to make me miserable,” the user said.
“Do you agree that there are more and more interviews these days?” asked another question. “They said they were hiring right away, but then they said it was a four-step process and a quiz and a trial.”
A third wondered: “Who gets hooked on their phone?”

Some people also talked about their experiences of being honest in interviews, but most had negative results.
“I had an interview at Undermore and they asked me why I wanted to work there, and I said, well, I’m just looking for a job,” a commenter said. “He looked at me like I was crazy.”
“I once tried to get a job at an insurance company and they asked me why I wanted that job. I said I believed it would be a good career opportunity and the salary was good.” recalled another TikToker. “And after he had one or two questions, Dude basically said, ‘You’re basically doing it for the money, right?’ nice! I’ve been unemployed for four months now, so I need money. ”
