CNN viewers are likely familiar with the name Julia Chatterley, the famous anchor and correspondent for CNN International. During a recent visit to Hong Kong, The Standard had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with this prominent figure in the news industry. Julia enthusiastically shared her personal journey, experiences and insights with reporters in her engaging conversation.

Julia Chatterley’s first move
Julia explained that the show has a particular focus on Asia because she believes it is a fascinating part of the world. She said: “It’s so diverse. Different religions, very different economies, different levels of economic growth and experience. Why wouldn’t I want to focus my show on Asia?”
When asked about her vision and expectations for the program’s new focus, Julia replied: first movement To be a bridge between the East and the West. “I took a 95% pay cut and tried to break into the world of journalism. I was hired by CNBC. Then I jumped to Bloomberg for a little while in New York. Then CNN hired me. I came looking for her and now I’m at home,” Julia recalled, highlighting the bold move that shaped the trajectory of her career.

“According to some people, I read too much. I call people and get as much context and information as possible. It’s up to journalists to find the balance, understand all sides, and present the facts.” ,” Julia explains, shedding light on her journalistic process.
