The server reportedly posted a viral video after being interviewed at a nice restaurant. She was shocked when she found out that the price of the water was $33.
TikToker Rebecca Rivette (@rebeccarivette01)’s video had more than 10,800 views by Thursday. She captioned her own video, “Maybe I’m just poor but I don’t understand her hype.”
At the beginning of the video, Rivette says: “Everyone, rich people are stupid.”
“Do you want to know what happened?” she continues. Then Rivette said she had just returned from an interview for a server position at a high-end restaurant.
Rivett said the hiring manager asked her if she wanted water at the beginning of the interview.
“Do you prefer regular water or sparkling water?” she reported the interviewer asking.
“It’s still okay,” she reportedly replied. “I drink tap water. What do you mean?” she says to the audience.
Rivette said he poured her a glass of water and left the bottle on the table for the rest of the interview.
She said the interviewer asked her to keep the bottle of water after the interview was over.
“I thought this was something to serve the whole table, right? Everyone shares a bottle of water and just pours it into their own glasses,” she says.
“No,” Rivette added. “I looked into it after I got home.”
Rivette shows the audience a bottle of water and asks, “Do you want to know how much this costs?”
“It costs $33 for ‘mineral water,'” she says, quoting.
“Oh my god? Rich people are stupid,” she added.
“The brand has 50 sparkling waters,” she continues. “Fifty dollars for a fucking bottle of water? Bitch, I’ll drink it out of the sink.”

The bottle seems to be from a brand called Aguas de Mondaris. According to its website, the brand sells mineral and carbonated water in glasses, as well as 100% recyclable plastic bottles. The “Shop” link on the website doesn’t seem to be working.
“According to Google, the brand of water mentioned in the video retails for $33,” Rivette told the Daily Dot in a TikTok direct message. I don’t know the price sold at the restaurant I applied to. ”
It’s unclear which Google search result Rivett got his pricing information from, but it appears he may have confused the cost per case with the price per bottle. According to Beverage Universe, the price for 6 cases of 750 ml glass bottles of Aguas Demondalis Natural Still Mineral Water is $33.33, while the price for one glass bottle of the same size is $6.96. Sparkling options are priced the same, with options over $50 for cases of 12 or 24 glass bottles in various sizes.
Viewers in the comments section agreed with Rivette that the water was too high.
“They need to feel special,” one said. “I can’t drink the same brand that poor people drink!” lol. “
Rivette replied, “God forbid that, LOL.”
“Young lady, I hope you get a job that pays a lot of money,” said another woman.
