In my review of this film at the Toronto International Film Festival (here), I had this to say about this fascinating work by Hüller and Trier:
Sandra Hüller gives her best performance of the year here. Hüller makes her character complex and somewhat mysterious, which adds to the mystery of the case. Even as her end credits roll, you’re left wondering about her and whether justice was served for her. That’s not the point, but she makes this portrait of a woman truly captivating.
filmmaker Justine Triet Only one misstep here, otherwise great filmmaking.with co-author Arthur Harari, tiptoed along the lines of a third-act decision that would have lost me completely. This isn’t a complete misdirect, but it’s the start of something more complicated, so it’ll work, but it’ll be touch-and-go for a while. Otherwise, the script is sharp and Torrier’s direction shines, especially in the domestic scenes. The film is as successful in examining complex relationships as it is in depicting a courtroom drama.

As well as their reactions, you can also hear Messi enjoying the fact that he has become an outstanding star thanks to this film. Plus, it’s incredibly satisfying to hear a satisfying response from your audience that they “get it.” If you haven’t seen this one yet, you should immediately correct that glaring omission and look for it, as both have a shot at Oscar glory next month, with Toretto in particular starring in an original screenplay. structure of overturning…
