Latest news on Ben Thief…
“Ben will be out for six to eight weeks. Unfortunately, that’s the reality.”
Looking back at the match…
“When you get a red card against any team, it can cost you. We got a red card and we’re down to 10 men, but in that time we have two of the best chances in the game.
“One from Haji Wright and one from Casey Palmer, and with that, we played good football both before and after going to 10 men.
“From our point of view, it’s disappointing because they put in a lot of hard work even though they didn’t score.
“There are positives there, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and we are hurt.
“I’m not happy with how things went today. We obviously didn’t deserve to lose.”
Second half starts…
“I thought we were better in the second half than we were in the first half. We made some strange decisions in the first half, pressing when we shouldn’t have and choosing to fall back when we should have been involved. did, and that gave them some encouragement.
“The game here is never easy because they have top players and Josh Sargent is a top player, so if you give him a half-yard or sniff a goal, it’s usually in the back of the net.
“They have, as you can imagine, runners from midfield and talented players, but we gave them too much respect at times and it was 0-0 at half-time.
“When we got into the second half we were on top and the movement towards goal was great and it was a great finish from Callum.”
Opportunity to extend your lead…
“Haji did everything right. He just didn’t hit it hard, but it hit the goalkeeper’s leg, which gave him a chance to save.”
“If it’s them, there’s no criticism that it’s in the far corner, we just missed the far corner, that’s just the way it is.
“Casey’s movement was a great play. His first pass was also really good and he was in a really good position to score and he hit it but the keeper saved it.”
Liam Kitching suspended…
“Liam will miss two games. Denying a scoring opportunity will result in a one-game suspension and extra time if he receives a red card earlier in the season.”
