Jay Dasilva has spoken of his “excitement” as City prepare to face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round.
The defender will be hoping to help the Sky Blues progress to the next round when they travel to Hillsborough for the second time in a week.
Ahead of the game, DaSilva reflected on his time here as he prepares to return to the team and play tomorrow's game.
Traveling to Hillsboro again…
“It's a little strange. We were just there six days ago, so it's a little strange to do the same trip again, but the players are all ready to do it again and move on to the next round. I hope so.”
Aiming for a breakthrough in the FA Cup…
“I'm excited. The FA Cup is huge, it's historic, it's a big tournament in this country and I love playing there.”
To be left out of the starting eleven…
“It was pretty tough. Every player wants to play at the end of the day, but the players worked really hard and we got some points and played well.
“Everyone gets along well and is in a good place. Of course everyone wants to play, but when you're winning you can't say too much.”
Preparing to leave…
“When you're not happy with your start, you can't moan and succumb about it. You just have to be prepared and do the right thing and make sure you're ready to take the opportunity when it comes. Must be.
“If you come off the bench, you try to make an impact, but once you start, you do it.”
From formation changes and wing backs…
“To be honest, I think I'm a natural left-back and I think that's my natural position.
“After switching to the back four, I think we got good results and looked comfortable.
“To be honest, if I were the manager, I would have a hard time changing the team.''
Talking to the manager…
“Everyone is different. You can voice your opinions and complaints, but in the end what matters is working hard every day and doing the right thing, and that's what makes him ready for you.” It is to show that.”
Let's enjoy the race for the top 6…
“You could say my last few seasons have been the same. Although we had a few wins here, we were inconsistent, lost some matches and finished in mid-table, but it was the same.
“But since I've walked through the doors here, it's been a breath of fresh air and I've really enjoyed it and we've been building and climbing tables.”
Looking back on the past half year…
“I really enjoyed it. Now all I have to do is get back on the team and help the players. That's what I want to do.”
