The Atlanta Falcons found a replacement for Arthur Smith on Thursday night, naming Raheem Morris the 19th head coach in franchise history. However, the possibility of Smith returning to the NFL this season cannot be ruled out.
Smith made a name for himself as the Tennessee Titans’ offensive coordinator and could soon return to the same role with another AFC team.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Smith was interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive coordinator vacancy on Sunday afternoon.

Smith went 21-30 in three seasons as the Falcons’ head coach. Although the team made clear progress overall, a lack of offensive production and poor play at the quarterback position prevented the team from taking the next step in 2023.

He’s the perfect offensive coordinator for them. That means he will continue the tradition of running a wasteful passing game and overestimating running the ball between the tackles. https://t.co/mMsV9XsCVH

They didn’t want anyone to know they had done this. Dropped this during the AFC Championship? Holding your nose during the interview can cause odor. https://t.co/Nl7DBS4p2Y
