After asking Scott to spoil the movie for those who haven’t seen it yet, Patterson mentioned, “Tell me about prosthetics,” adding, “How much do you know?” [Keoghan]? ” Many fans have responded negatively to the clip and question since it was reposted on social media.
Now the BBC has responded to claims that the question was “inappropriate and homophobic”, writing in a statement: “The reporter first asked Andrew Scott about the film he starred in, All of Us Strangers, which had been nominated for six BAFTAs.”Then asked him about the Irish actor’s popularity. “Saltburn” star Barry Keoghan was mentioned.
The statement continued: “Saltburn is a culturally influential film, with the final scene with Barry Keoghan in particular garnering a lot of attention, and the actor himself has said so much.

Scott stars in All of Us Strangers alongside Paul Mescal and Claire Foy, but the British film failed to win accolades on BAFTA night and was shortlisted for major awards. It faces stiff competition from Oppenheimer, Poor Things, and Zone of Interest. Despite this, All of Us Strangers was nominated for six BAFTAs, and Saltburn also received five nominations.
Scott’s next role will be in Netflix’s long-awaited film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr Ripley. Scott, who will arrive on the streamer in April, will play the enigmatic protagonist played by Matt Damon in the 1999 film.
The synopsis for the new series is as follows: “Tom Ripley, a rough-and-tumble businessman in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to persuade his vagrant son to return home.
“Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complicated life of deceit, fraud, and murder.”
