The interview left viewers around the world wincing, but after almost a week the BBC has finally apologized to Andrew Scott for what it called an “incorrect” question.
Oh, and Entertainment Correspondent Colin Patterson takes the Irish actor out to celebrate the success of his film All of Us Strangers at the BAFTAs with Barry Keoghan’s penis and the now infamous How chilling it was to hear people talk about Saltburn’s dance scene.
A boring red carpet interview is made hilarious enough when a BBC reporter asks if he knows Barry well and Andrew responds with a big smile: “I know Barry.” It started in .

What did you think when you first saw the naked dance scene at the end of Saltburn? So Colin asked.
When people around him yelled, “Don’t spoil it!”, Andrew, who is good at sports, exclaimed, “Oh, Jesus,” and looked confused and said, “Listen, I’m not going to spoil it for anyone.” But it’s wonderful, wonderful,” he added.
He awkwardly raised his hand and looked dismayed, which should have been Patterson’s cue to move on, but instead he tried again to insist, “You can indulge me.”

“Yeah, no, I’m not going to spoil it for anyone,” Andrew insisted at this stage, embarrassed, which also should have alerted the reporter, but he stubbornly carried on anyway, becoming completely inappropriate. Ta.
“You’ve been talking a lot about prosthetics, but how well do you know him?”
It was at this point that Andrew managed to keep his cool and walk away from the reporter.

The controversial question, which suggested Barry and openly gay Andrew may be intimately acquainted with each other, caused an uproar around the world.
After several days of silence, the BBC admitted the question was a “misjudgment” and apologized if it had offended, but still sided with the reporter.
The statement reads: “Our reporter started by asking Andrew Scott about the film he starred in, All of Us Strangers, which was nominated for six BAFTAs.”

He then asked about the popularity of Irish actors, and Saltburn star Barry Keoghan came up. Saltburn is a culturally influential film, with the Barry Keoghan scene at the end receiving a lot of attention, and the actor himself talking about it.
“Our questions to Andrew Scott were meant to be a light-hearted reflection of the discussion on the ground and were not intended to offend. Emerald, the writer and director of Saltburn Fennell and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, whose song “Murder on the Dance Floor” was featured in the film, were also asked about this scene.
However, we acknowledge that certain questions to Andrew Scott were misjudged. After speaking with Andrew on the carpet, the reporter admitted on air that his questions may have gone too far and said he was sorry if that was the case. ”

This isn’t the first time a joke about the scene has sparked concern, with Chelsea Handler telling Barry, who looked uncomfortable while sitting in the audience at the Critics’ Choice Awards, that “I don’t want to thank you for your penis contribution.” Please be grateful,” he quipped.
Host Jo Koy also asked the actor at the Golden Globes, “Where does your penis sit?” The one in front? That was the real star of the show. ”
