Nominate an innovative woman in the ICT industry by March 18th.
Wired4Women Tech Forum has partnered with ITWeb Brainstorm to launch an awards program to identify and recognize women who are making a difference in South Africa’s technology sector.
The awards have 11 categories and highlight outstanding women across a wide range of roles, from top executives to outstanding students and everyone in between.
The Wired4Women Tech Forum is an organization of IT leaders founded three years ago with the goal of redressing the gender imbalance in the field by providing networking opportunities, mentorship, and training.
Nomonde White-Ndlovu, Chairman of Wired4Women and CIO of Bidvest Bank, emphasizes the importance of role models, saying, “You can’t be what you can’t see.”
“I want my daughters to grow up in a world where they can be who they want to be. They need role models to aspire to, and this award aims to introduce them to those role models.” she says.
The 11 categories are:
Leader of the Year (CIO, CTO, CISO)
technology entrepreneur
top technology innovators
technology for good
IT Business Development Executive
A rising star in the security field
Rising Star of the Cloud
Rising star of emerging technology
top technology student
Mentor of the Year
Pioneer
A panel of judges, including Wired4Women board members, ITWeb editors, and other senior industry representatives, will determine the winners.
The winners will be announced at a gala event in Sandton on 22nd May.
