February 29th: Marathon Digital HoldingsA publicly traded Bitcoin mining company has revealed that it is developing Anduro, a new programmable multi-chain layer 2 network on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. According to a press release, it is a “platform built on the Bitcoin network that enables the creation of multiple sidechains.” “Marathon has already developed its first two sidechains in Anduro, Coordine and Alys, which can be further developed by open source contributors. These chains demonstrate the flexible programmability of Anduro. Cooperative provides a cost-effective UTXO stack for the Ordinals community, while Alys is an Ethereum-compatible chain for institutional asset tokenization.
