Sunny Edwards claims that burglars broke into her home and stole the “priceless” ring that was given to her when she became IBF flyweight world champion.
Police were called at 2:13 a.m. Monday to reports of a burglary at a home in Sheffield. Three men allegedly broke into the property and stole multiple valuables, including a ring given to Edwards after he won the 2021 flyweight world title.
Edwards, 28, said: “Sadly, last night thieves broke into my house and stole several personal items belonging to me, including my valuable IBF ring, which was given to me after I won my first world championship.

“While the ring itself has no monetary value, it is testament to my many years of hard work and dedication both in and outside of the boxing ring and has immeasurable sentimental value to me and my family.”
“It’s bad enough to have my ring stolen from my home, but I’m satisfied when my ring is returned safely.”
South Yorkshire Police said officers had made contact with Edwards and were investigating. Edwards, from London, won the IBF flyweight world title in April 2021 with a unanimous points victory over South Africa’s Morty Mthalane.
In December, Edwards lost his belt to 24-year-old American Jesse Rodriguez, the first defeat of his professional career.
