Terence Crawford has a strong argument for the title of best boxer on the planet.
The 36-year-old boxer from Omaha, Nebraska has been a world champion in three weight classes, dominating two of them, and will make his super welterweight debut in an attempt to become a four-division world champion.
Although the 147-pound era is over, current IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis is up for a challenge and is more than willing to face “Bud” at 154 pounds.
Promoter Eddie Hearn, who recently signed the Philadelphia native Alarcik, has called the fight the biggest bout in boxing, and Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alarcik has also expressed interest in funding the fight.
Boots is fresh off a stoppage win over David Avanesyan and is considered a top-tier talent, and his 32-0 record, which includes 19 early finishes, is as impressive as any, but he will come in through the ropes as an underdog.
Speaking to Only Kayla, the 27-year-old said that winning might be “easier than people think” because he thinks he’s “better at everything” than Crawford.
“I have a hungry mind. That hungry mind. Whatever he does, I can do it better. I’m smart, I’m sharp. I want to tell people, when you fight someone better than you, you become better. People don’t understand that. When you fight someone better, it makes you better, it makes you think, it takes you to the next level. And the fight might be easier than you think. It’s easier than other people think, because I know what I’m going to do.”
Crawford will face unbeaten WBA super welterweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3 in Los Angeles.
