A murder investigation has been launched after a 33-year-old woman was stabbed to death in south-east London.
The victim was found with stab wounds on January 16 in Penhill Road, a quiet residential area in Bexley.
She was rushed to hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries a few days later on January 23rd.
The News Shopper reported that the victim was locally named Lelia, and a memorial left at the scene of the stabbing described her as a “loving mother.”
Tony Currant, 33, of Penhill Road, was arrested on January 20 and charged with attempted murder the next day.
He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 22, where he was remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday 5th February.
Lelia’s family has been alerted and is receiving support from specialist staff. A post-mortem will also be performed.
