Arnos Vale Ground, Arnos Vale, St Vincent
A multi-purpose venue that also hosts football, the Arnos Vale Ground has hosted international cricket since 1981, when the West Indies beat England by just two runs in a One-Day International.
The stadium, located in Arnos Vale on the outskirts of Kingstown, has a capacity of 18,000 and will host the T20 World Cup 2024 match between Bangladesh and the Netherlands from June 13.
Nepal will face South Africa and Bangladesh in their group matches at the same venue, which will also host two second-round matches on June 22 and 24.
Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia
Officially named after the nation’s favourite cricketer who captained the West Indies to their second T20 World Cup victory in 2016, the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium is located on the outskirts of Rodney Bay. Beausejour Hills, after which the stadium was named from 2002 to 2016, provides a beautiful backdrop for the venue.
The ground hosted its first international match, an ODI between West Indies and New Zealand in June 2002. It is an oval shaped ground, with the long boundary just beside the wicket and the short boundary just beside the wicket.
Sammy himself has the rare honour of having a ground named after him, while Johnson Charles, another St Lucian who has had success at the T20 World Cup, also has a stand named after him at the venue.
