The upcoming summer transfer window will be a crucial period for West Ham, with a number of new signings required, but it appears one of our players has already agreed to leave.
Thilo Köhler left the Hammers in January to join Monaco on a season-long loan, but the Ligue 1 side appear to be obligated to sign him for around £10m as long as he plays a certain number of games. But it looks like that deal may already be done…
Described as “brilliant” by German football expert Raphael Honigstein (WHUFC.com), Köhler is clearly a very talented player, but he was a bit unsuited for the Premier League.
And now it looks like the 27-year-old will no longer be playing in England, as SportBILD report that a permanent move from West Ham to Monaco has already been confirmed.

Sport Bild claim that Köhler’s permanent move to Monaco has already been completed, meaning he can already put around £10m into his summer budget, which is great news.
I don’t think Koehler was a particularly bad player.

When Koehler played for the Hammers, he was used as a right-back, unless there was an emergency.
However, perhaps his best and most memorable performance for West Ham was when he came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute in the Europa Conference League final last June.
His extraordinary cameo will always be remembered, but no Hammers fan will shed a tear every time he leaves for good.
