Vadera Art Gallery is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of young Pakistani-American artist Zam Arif. Titled, daydream, the show features 12 large and small oil paintings. “[These works]richly evoke Arif’s conceptual interest in projecting interiority as deep mental states and interstitial physical spaces,” the gallery notes say. He appears to be strongly figurative and steeped in a kind of meditative and often melancholic tone. ‘Waking Dream’ can be seen at Vadehra Art Gallery, D-53 Defense Colony, Delhi from 10 am to 6 pm (Monday to Saturday) till March 1.

When the museum celebrates its first anniversary
The Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) in Bengaluru is celebrating its first anniversary on Sunday and various lively events are being held to mark this milestone. The celebration begins Sunday morning with a guided walk-through of the MAP building by architect Soumitro Ghosh of the architecture firm Mathew & Ghosh, which designed the museum. Next, explore MAP’s permanent exhibits. VISIBLE/INVISIBLE: Representation of women in art through the MAP collection, with the museum’s internal team members. Interactive walkthroughs of current exhibitions are also included in the schedule. What didn’t show up on camera and The Golden Book: Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras.
