A woman who was scammed out of thousands of pounds by dating an online romance scammer has said she “felt the world falling apart” when she discovered she was pregnant with his child.
Peter Gray, 35, was sentenced to 56 months in prison in February for defrauding four women of £80,000.
He was also granted a restraining order in relation to these victims.
Gray found women on Tinder, dated them and formed close relationships that helped him commit crimes for personal financial gain.
Hannah said she started dating him, but was “manipulated” into staying, and then found out she was pregnant.
After meeting Gray, her sister Natalie looks into his past and discovers Peter is a fraud.
Natalie said: “You see things like this happen on TV. You’ll never believe it can happen to you, but believe me it can.”
“I thought, ‘How am I going to deal with this?'” Hannah told BBC Radio 5 Live Drive about the moment her family told her what they had found out about Gray.
