Vasily Lomachenko, one of the greats of modern boxing, will face George Kambosos live on May 12th for the vacant IBF lightweight world title. sky sports.
The legendary Ukrainian fighter heads to Perth to take on Australia’s Kambosos as he looks to reclaim his title belt against a former champion.
Lomachenko is a two-time Olympic gold medalist who won his first world championship in his third professional fight.
Devin Haney wins a close unanimous decision over Vasily Lomachenko in a hard-fought battle in Las Vegas.
He became a three-division world champion and unified the lightweight titles.
Lomachenko lost the belt in a shocking loss to a rousing Teofimo Lopez. But then he racked up impressive wins over Richard Commey and Jamaine Ortiz.
In one of the top fights of 2023, he fought Devin Haney for the undisputed lightweight title, only to lose on a controversial points decision.
Haney moved up to super lightweight, leaving the IBF 135-pound title vacant.

Kambosos will have the home crowd on his side when he takes on Lomachenko for the belt and is sure to be a determined opponent.
The Australian has a wealth of experience in top-level competition, having shocked Teofimo Lopez in 2021 to become the holder of three belts.
The only guy to beat him is Devin Haney. Haney defeated Kambosos in an undisputed title fight in 2022 and repeated his victory over Kambosos in a subsequent rematch.
Kambosos bounced back from there with a victory last year, defeating Maxi Hughes by majority decision.
