Sources revealed the relationship between used car supermarket Big Motoring World and some car shop stores’ package purchases.
Sources told Car Dealer that a deal to buy up to four of Car Shop’s stores is being considered for the rapidly expanding Big Group.
Chairman Lawrence Vaughan, who took over running the group from ousted founder Peter Waddell, is said to have told staff the group was looking to expand further.
Mr. Vaughan previously served as CEO of car shop owner Sytner. He has been appointed Big in his 2022 and holds a number of non-executive roles.
Both companies declined to comment when contacted today.

A spokesperson for car shop owner Mr Sytner said: “We can confirm that we are in negotiations with interested parties regarding the sale of a small number of Car Shop stores as a going concern, as well as the potential closure of one store.” Stated.
“Our priority, as always, is to protect as many jobs as possible while ensuring the long-term future success of our business.”
Big Motoring World Group officials said staff believed they were stakeholders and the showroom could soon be transferred to the company.
A spokesperson for Bigg responded to inquiries from car dealers with “no comment,” while a spokesperson for Sytner added, “We do not comment on speculation.”
