Hoping to beat them: England’s Harry Brook
Ahead of England’s Super Eights final match against the USA in the T20 World Cup, coach Harry Brook said his team was looking to give their opponents a “good batsmanship”.
In Group 2, England is in third place with one win and one loss, having lost their last match against South Africa by seven runs. With South Africa in first place with two wins and West Indies also with one win and one loss from their two matches, England must beat the United States by a large margin to ensure their place in the semi-finals. Therefore, the match between South Africa and West Indies will be played in a knockout format.
“We have to win and then obviously we have to see what the net run rate is but the most important thing is to make sure we win. We’ve played Barbados quite a bit over the last six months so we know the conditions, we know the winds, we know the pitch, so hopefully we can go out there and beat them,” Brook said.
“I haven’t actually watched any of their matches, just some highlights of their bowlers. But we’ll do it.” [watching their videos etc]We need to analyse it and make sure we are properly prepared for the match,” he added.
