Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that in seven years of a “twin-engine” government in Uttar Pradesh, a culture of “red tape” has been replaced by a “red carpet” for investors.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of over Rs 1 million project here, he said an environment of trade, development and trust has emerged in the state.
“Seven to eight years ago, it was unimaginable that UP would have such an environment of investment and employment. At that time, crime and riots were commonplace, and even if someone said that UP would develop, it would have been unimaginable. No one would have believed it,” he said, targeting the early governments.
“It has been seven years since the twin government was formed in UP. Over the last few years, UP has eliminated the culture of red tape and replaced it with a red carpet culture,” he said.
He also said that party officials believe that only members of one family have the right to Bharat Ratna and that is why the government did not give the right to Bharat Ratna to BR Ambedkar for decades. He harshly criticized Congress.
Ambedkar was posthumously awarded the country’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1990.
Prime Minister Modi said it was an honor to present the award to former Chief Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, an iconic farmer leader from Uttar Pradesh.
The prime minister also emphasized the government’s measures to support farmers.
He said the government will not give up until all ‘ravatis’ benefit from various schemes.
PM Modi said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “twin-engine” government in Uttar Pradesh has shown that no one can stop development from proceeding if it has an intention.
“Exports from UP have doubled in the last few years. UP has done a commendable job in power generation and transmission. UP is the state with the highest number of highways in the country,” he said.
He said Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the strength behind ‘Vikshit Uttar Pradesh’ and they are benefiting from schemes such as ‘One District, One Product’ and Vishwakarma Scheme. Ta.
“In the last seven years, crime has decreased in UP and business culture has expanded. In the last seven years, an environment of trade, development and trust has developed in UP,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 14,000 projects worth over Rs 10,000 crore in the state during the fourth groundbreaking ceremony here on Monday for investment proposals received during the UP Global Investors Summit. Ta.
These projects relate to sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, food processing, housing and real estate, hospitality and entertainment, and education.
The event was also attended by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Several businessmen, representatives of top global and Indian companies, and many foreign envoys also participated in the program.
