Real World: Miami Classmate Sarah Becker has passed away. She was 52 years old.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of Sarah Becker’s passing,” an MTV spokesperson told People magazine. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this time of grief.”
According to TMZ, which first reported the news, the reality TV star committed suicide at her Illinois home last week. She had been living in the state at the time to care for an ailing family member, but had plans to return to California.

Becker was a 25-year-old comic book store clerk from La Jolla, California, who may be best remembered for her love of skateboarding and bringing home puppies. She continued to skateboard and reportedly suffered from skateboard-related injuries before her death.

Alexeiyun, 52, posted a tribute to Becker on Instagram on Sunday, June 23, the same day news of his death broke.
“So sad and hard to believe to hear about my roommate Sarah’s passing. She was the most selfless person I knew. She was always kind and helpful to everyone,” Alexeiun wrote. “I haven’t spoken to her in years and had no idea she was struggling. My prayers go out to her family. May your roommate and friend rest in peace. Skate with the angels and never feel pain again. #therealworldmiami”
Becker’s friend, Danielle Norton, remembered her in a Facebook post: “Sarah Becker was pure sunshine. She was filled with energy and positivity and it was hard not to feel her warmth when you stood near her. I am grateful for all our adventures and laughs together,” Norton wrote.

“Big hugs to the entire Wildstorm family!” he added, referring to the comic book company where Becker once worked.
Renzi posted a tribute to Becker on Instagram on Sunday, saying he and his ex-husband Real World The co-stars had not been in contact for years since filming the show.
“Sarah and I haven’t spoken since the show ended so I know nothing about her struggles,” he wrote, reflecting on their shared experiences.
“The seven of us in this cast have been through strange, intense and sometimes traumatic experiences together, and that creates connections between people, even if we choose not to be around each other,” Renzi continued, adding, “It’s just so sad.”
