On World Cancer Day 2024, we come together to raise awareness, inspire action and foster unity in the global fight against cancer.
Cancer affects millions of lives around the world, and women face unique challenges. The impact is devastating, from breast and ovarian cancer to cervical and lung cancer.
This year, the FIGO Women’s Cancer Committee collaborated to shine a light on and raise awareness of gynecological cancers.
The Committee on Women’s Cancer is responsible for the primary prevention (vaccination), screening, diagnosis, and treatment of gynecological cancers (cervical, endometrial, ovarian, vaginal, and vulvar cancer). We clarify and advance staging, treatment, and palliative care through staging and other guidelines, advocacy, education, research, and support. Capacity building. We are working with the Well Women’s Health and Care Committee to develop screening strategies for other cancers, including breast.
