Make solid New Year's resolutions to drive positive change.
It's that time of year again when we focus on making resolutions to live a healthier lifestyle. Our resolutions may be well-intentioned, but the reality for many of us is that they don't last long and we quickly lose motivation. Eventually we find ourselves back at square one, frustrated by our inability to follow through on our intentions. But why is this? We all genuinely want to be healthy and live a better quality of life. So why do our good intentions and motivation disappear?
The answer is often rooted in the ultimate reason for the change.
.your It is the most important factor in creating and sustaining positive changes in your life. Identifying your deepest reasons for change is the first step to building a healthier lifestyle and can help you maintain perseverance, especially during difficult times.Unfortunately, the opposite is also true. If the reason for change is not deeply ingrained within you, motivation will quickly fade and is likely to diminish when faced with obstacles in daily life. When we truly look at our current situation through deep reflection and identify why we want to change for the better, we create a “guiding star” for ourselves that helps us keep moving forward when we feel like giving up. Masu.
Ultimately, your why is a vision of the person we want to become. It motivates us to wake up early, go for a run in the rain, or do a gym session when we're tired. The “why” gives us purpose and provides the fuel for the fire we need to achieve our goals. To become the person we want to be!
For example; you may want to exercise regularly because of the psychological benefits and how it makes you feel better. You may want to feel better physically by getting in shape or losing a few pounds. Maybe someday you want to train to run that marathon you've always wanted to run. Maybe you just enjoy the social interaction of completing a fitness class. Or maybe you want to improve your own health and well-being because you know how important it is to the people you love most.
What matters is that the reason is essentially the most important to you.
Once you've identified your reasons, it's time to put them into action. The next step is to create a simple plan to help you achieve it. The keyword is simple!
When it's simple, you have the greatest opportunity to stick with your plan and achieve incremental improvements over time. Knowing that a task is relatively easy to perform eliminates the temptation to quit due to complexity. But don't confuse “easy” with “easy.” Easy means doing something that is not challenging and ultimately never achieves your goal.
Remember that even great athletes have periods of low motivation. The reason they are ultimately successful is their ability.
At a time like this, knowing that brings us closer to the goal of why things are happening. They have developed a habit of sticking to their plans. You too can achieve the same. By creating a realistic and achievable plan, you can chart a path to your final destination.
. By creating achievable goals, you can create a roadmap for your journey. Milestone goals and objectives are like signposts on the highway of life. They not only create positive reinforcement that you are getting closer to your destination, but also provide reassurance that we are still on the right path. The most important characteristic that determines the success of a plan/routine is the ability to attend. When we decide to be proactive and commit to what we set out to do, we are on the path to progress, to positive change.
Every journey begins with the first step. This ability to keep showing up, no matter what the voices in your head are, is what will lead to long-term success. Think of yourself as having to make decisions every day. Will I show up and choose a path that brings me closer to who I want to be (my why)?
Or will you choose a path that takes you further away from who you want to be?
There may be times when it feels difficult to make the right decisions, and this is natural. However, the ability to continue participating in the prescribed activities will eventually lead to the results we desire.
But if we stay involved and stay true to our “why,” the results will come. Once this happens, we have moved into a great position to reinforce positive change. We are currently receiving continuous positive feedback on our efforts.
Dopamine starts flowing and goes into overdrive. This is the point where you make sure your efforts are getting closer to your “why.” The process for progress is effective. However, we cannot be satisfied at this stage.
We have been through some very difficult times of self-doubt and hardship. We have worked hard to get into this position, achieving consistent progress. But we haven't reached our goal yet. So for now, stay disciplined in the process and keep moving towards your destination.
What if you arrived in a great position where you achieved your goals? It's simple. Please start the process again. There is always a deep meaning to becoming the best version of yourself, a so-called infinite purpose.
