The Met Office has announced that London is expected to experience rain for several days starting in the early hours of Wednesday, and will remain cloudy for much of the week, with the possibility of further extreme weather conditions.
London is expected to be hit by 63 hours of continuous rain this week before a “wall of snow” arrives in the capital later this month.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the light rain would begin at 3 a.m. Wednesday and continue throughout the day until Thursday. Forecasters said further rain was expected to fall in London until around 3pm on Friday. The maximum temperature during this period is 13℃. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the weather is expected to be cloudy for most of the week, but the sun is expected to appear around 12pm on Friday.
Forecasters have issued flood warnings as up to 170mm of rain is expected to fall in parts of the country. A yellow weather warning is in place from 6pm today, with rain expected to move further south in other areas as the week progresses.
This means that hazards such as flooding and property damage may occur. The wettest areas are expected to be in Argyll, Lochaber and Wester Ross across Scotland from tonight until Monday, when the weather warning is finally lifted at 9pm.
However, it is thought that areas across England and Wales, possibly the Midlands, northern England and north Wales, will bear the brunt of the low pressure system on Thursday. Forecasters understand that it may fall as snow. NetWeather forecaster Ian Simpson wrote on the service’s blog:
“A front will push in from the south-west on Thursday, bringing rain and calmer air to England and Wales, resulting in areas of England and Wales, possibly the Midlands and northern England, as cold air pushes in from the north into Friday and Saturday. , it could turn to snow on the northern slopes, mainly at the higher elevations, but in some cases it could even reach the lower elevations. Well, it depends on how fast the cold air from the north comes down. .”
A number of flood warnings and warnings are currently in place, with more expected to be in place by the end of the week. These include concerns for low-lying properties in Berkshire’s River Lambourn, the Upper Ouse near York and the Upper Hull catchment area. However, the Met Office said: “It looks likely that there will be prolonged periods of rain in parts of western Scotland from Sunday into Monday. The rain will initially move slowly northwards into Sunday, before turning around and continuing into late Monday. They are expected to return to the south.”
“Parts of the southern part of the warning area may experience brief periods of dry rain on Monday, with uncertainty as to how far north the rain will reach. of rain, with 120-170mm possible in the wettest areas, with this most likely in parts of Argyll, Lochaber and Wester Ross.
There are also suggestions that a 500-mile wall of snow could push towards the UK in the coming weeks. Forecasters at WX Charts are predicting a huge wall of snow will appear across London and much of the UK on February 16th. Lavender gradients around the capital indicate up to 0.6mm of snow will fall on the day, MyLondon reports.
However, the BBC’s forecast until February 15 calls for “thin clouds and a light breeze”. The Japan Meteorological Agency’s long-term forecast does not predict snow.
Overall, the Japan Meteorological Agency predicts the following for the period from February 6th to 15th. “It will most likely be unstable initially across much of the UK. It will become colder with showers in the north, making it particularly wintry in the highlands, but also wintry at times in the lowlands.”Clouds rolling in from the Atlantic. The rain could move further south into the southern part of the country, where milder conditions may persist, but the rain could be more persistent, especially in the west.
“Exactly where the line between these two regimes lies is still quite uncertain at this point. However, there is a possibility of more widespread winter conditions across the northern edge of this line for some time into late next week. There is.”
