Arsenal face Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium tonight as they aim for a sixth successive win in the Premier League. The Gunners are also looking to bounce back from midweek defeat to FC Porto in the Champions League.

The good news for Arsenal is that Thomas Partey is expected to fully return to first-team training this week, joining the squad for the first time since October. The Ghanaian midfielder is likely to start the game on the bench, which would be a big boost for the Gunners.

Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko are also close to returning to Mikel Arteta’s side, with both players absent since the win over Nottingham Forest. Both the striker and full-back are expected to face late fitness tests to determine if they are able to play a role in tonight’s match.

In other news, Fabio Vieira rejoined the squad in the Champions League on Wednesday night and will be available again for tonight’s Premier League match. The Portugal international has not featured for Arsenal since receiving a red card against Burnley in November.
It will still be a week or two before Takehiro Tomiyasu is available for Mikel Arteta. Meanwhile, Julian Timber is scheduled to start light training next week. The defender could return next month, which would be a big boost for Arsenal as they look to win the title and reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
