Politicians have taken to social media to condemn the move after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made what appeared to be threatening remarks suggesting Turkey would join Israel, as it has done with other countries in the past.

“Erdogan is following in the same path as Saddam Hussein and threatening to attack Israel. He needs to remember what happened there and how it ended,” the Israeli minister wrote in the post.
Calling for NATO action and condemnation
Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Cikli posted in Turkish on his X account, saying: “I have heard the threats. [from] Hamas supporters [Erdogan]” He slammed him, adding: “He is a clown and the Turkish people know it.”

“President Erdogan is ranting again. He is a danger to the Middle East,” Yair Lapid, an opposition leader and chairman of the Yesh Atid party, wrote on X.
It also said NATO condemned the threats and “must force them to end their support for Hamas.”

World leaders react to threats
After reading Jerusalem Post According to the article, Dutch member of parliament Geert Wilders told X that Erdogan was “totally crazy” and suggested the Netherlands should withdraw from NATO.
He described President Erdogan as an “Islamofascist.”
