Speaking at his latest campaign rally at his club, Donald Trump challenged Joe Biden to another presidential debate “this week” and a golf match “bigger than the Ryder Cup or the Masters”.
The former president took the stage in front of a packed crowd at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, Florida, just after 8pm ET on Tuesday, which he described as “one of the greatest golf courses on earth.”
“Let’s have another debate this week so that sleepy Joe Biden can prove to the whole world that he has what it takes to be president,” he said.
Trump’s appearance came as speculation about his running mate is at a fever pitch with six days to go until the Republican National Convention, after he has said he will likely decide who his 2024 running mate will be “shortly before” or during the convention, which begins on July 15.
One of the running mates, Marco Rubio, appeared onstage with former President Trump on Tuesday but, unfortunately for him, made no announcement about Trump’s decision.
A new poll suggests Vice President Kamala Harris has a better chance of defeating President Trump than Biden in November’s presidential election.

The Florida rally was a Trump family event
During the rally, Trump made a point of calling out various members of his family, including his sons, whom he referred to as “my boys.”
A special introduction was made to 18-year-old Barron Trump, who was attending his first political rally.
The youngest son followed his father’s showmanship by standing up, waving to the crowd and pumping his fist, drawing cheers from the crowd.
“It’s the first time he’s ever done that…. He may be more popular than Don or Eric,” Trump said.
“Welcome to the scene, Baron. I don’t know, but he had a very nice, easy life. A bit changed now. Someone special, right?”

Trump says being indicted is ‘great fun’
Donald Trump told a cheering crowd at his Florida golf course that being indicted was “a lot of fun.”
The former president was convicted in May on 34 felony counts of concealing hush money payments and faces several additional legal battles.
“Every time a far-left Democrat or a Marxist Communist or a fascist indicts me, I consider it a great badge of honor, because I’m being indicted on your behalf,” he said.
“Never forget that our enemies are trying to take away my freedom, because I will never let them take away yours. That’s all.”
He added: “It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun being prosecuted.”

Trump provokes reporters as he announces his VP appointment
Trump commented on the number of reporters at his Florida rally and suggested it was due to anticipation for his running mate.
“They probably thought I was Marco. [Rubio] “It’s going to be vice president because there’s going to be a lot of press. There’s going to be a lot of press,” he said.
Florida Senator Rubio appeared before President Trump at the rally at the Trump National Doral Golf Club.

Trump challenges Biden to another debate and 18 holes of golf
Speaking on the 10th hole at Trump National Doral Golf Club, which he described as “one of the greatest golf courses on earth,” Donald Trump challenged Joe Biden to another presidential debate later this week.
The former president harshly criticized Biden’s performance on June 27, calling it “the most decisive and crushing defeat in the history of a presidential debate, according to the fake news media.”
“When I walked off stage, even CNN said it was one of the best performances they’d ever seen, but the truth is, it was a breeze,” he told the cheering crowd.
“But don’t pity him. He’s a very bad man. He weaponized the government. Remember, he’s a very bad man. Don’t pity him. So tonight I’m officially offering Joe an opportunity to redeem himself in front of the whole world.
“Let’s have another debate this week so Sleepy Joe Biden can prove to the world he has what it takes to be President. But this time it’ll be men-on-men, with no moderator, no restrictions. Just pick a time and place.”
Trump also challenged Biden to an 18-hole golf game, an issue that led to a bizarre clash between the two during the debate.
“It’s going to be one of the most watched sporting events of all time, maybe even bigger than the Ryder Cup or the Masters,” Trump said.
“I’m going to beat Joe Biden by 10 strokes. Ten strokes, that’s a lot. For those of you who don’t play golf, that’s 20 strokes. I’m going to beat him by 10 strokes. And if he wins, I’m going to donate $1 million to the charity of his choice, any charity of his choice.”

What is Project 2025?
Project 2025 is a blueprint for President Trump spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation and more than a dozen former Trump administration officials that is essentially a wish list for the administration, with policies that include expanding presidential executive power, appointing ideologically aligned civil servants, curtailing abortion rights and imposing anti-immigration policies.
But despite the plan’s architects coming from President Trump’s White House and Republicans having close ties to the group that launched it, the former president has sought to distance himself from the plan, claiming he knows “nothing” about it or “who is behind it.”
