Wine and spirits retailer Friarwood has secured space for Tromba tequila on the new menu at London cocktail bar Do Not Disturb (DND).
The bar, located in the City of London’s Vintry & Mercer Hotel, recently launched a Prohibition-era inspired menu.
Tromba’s reposado rendition can be seen in the “Swanky” cocktail, designed by DND bar manager Ciro Coticelli. In addition to trombales posado, other ingredients in this drink include Nixta corn liqueur, Ancho Reyes Verde, Chinotto Nero, chocolate, and his DND bitters with notes of CBD.
Coticelli adds “touches of theater and aroma” with palo santo wood smoke to further enhance the experience.
Nelson Bernardes, Spirits Portfolio Brand Manager at Friarwood, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Vintley & Mercer’s DND.Swanky pays homage to the rich history of cocktail culture while bringing together the artistry of modern mixology. This is a cocktail that embodies this.”
DND and its interiors are influenced by 1920s New York spies. The Swanky cocktail will be on his menu for a year.
Friarwood also helped get Tromba tequila and Venezuelan rum brand Ron Carpano onto the menu at the Ham Yard Hotel in central London.
The company began selling Tromba’s Sedano Expression in the UK last month. The product was created through the Sedano process, which includes custom distillation, a “revolutionary” agave resting technique, and aging in French Limousin oak barrels.
Friarwood also sells a coffee liqueur in the UK called Cafeto. It is made with Tromba His tequila, plus Portuguese aperitif Perse and German vodka Sassi & Fritz.
Friarwood entered the industry last year and is looking to strengthen its spirits portfolio. Since its founding in 1967, the company had previously only sold wine.
