ASLEF has announced a new series of train strikes that will begin on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 and continue until Monday, February 5, 2024.
These “rolling” strikes affect different railroad companies on different days of the week. However, all employers will be affected by the overtime ban, which will coincide with the strike from Monday, January 29th until Tuesday, February 6th.
Below are the dates each rail operator will be affected by the strike and links to the individual strike pages on each rail operator’s site.
Monday, January 29th: Overtime ban begins
Tuesday, January 30th: strike upon South Western Railway, South Eastern Railway, Southern Railway, Gatwick Express Railway, Great Northern Railway, Thameslink Railway
Wednesday, January 31st: strike upon Northern Express and Transpennine Express
Thursday, February 1st: No strike, but overtime ban continues
Friday, February 2nd: strike Served by Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express), c2c and LNER
Saturday, February 3rd: strike Avanti West Coast and East Midland Railway, London North Western Railway, West Midland Railway
Sunday February 4th: No strike, but overtime ban continues
Monday, February 5th: strike Great Western Railway, Cross Country, Chilterns
Tuesday, February 6th: There is no strike, but the overtime ban lasts until the end of the day.

Further strikes and overtime bans affecting LNER services for the week from Monday 5 February to Saturday 10 February have now been suspended.
