A Plymouth father has organized an “incredible” charity wrestling event to be held at Saltash Social Club on March 9. The first-ever event was in support of Plymouth Hospitals’ charity Keep Me, which provides accommodation for parents of premature or seriously ill babies who require hospital treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) across the South West.・This is a fundraising activity for “Crows.”
Tamer Community Wrestling (TCW) is a not-for-profit company that provides family entertainment “with the community at its heart.” This first show by TCW will feature local wrestlers from Plymouth’s His REACH Wrestling as well as talent from around the country. Professional wrestler TNT World Heavyweight Champion Tate Mayfairs will also face British professional wrestler Toby St. John.
The wrestling show will be hosted by Luke Robinson, 31, from Plymouth, and fellow wrestler Ethan Oakeshott, 33, who will both compete in separate matches at the event. Luke is a full-time content creator, but started wrestling as a “hobby” five years ago.

He said: “Wrestling is a great sport that all ages can watch and enjoy. There’s no entertainment like it. Every match has a story of heroes and villains. There’s also incredible athleticism. Everyone except the wrestling fans I convinced to go always enjoyed it.
“Going to a wrestling show with no experience can be daunting at first. But once the first bell rings for the opening match, you’ll be immersed in the great atmosphere that wrestling fans create, and you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to what’s going on. , you’ll be rooting for your favorite players and booing the villains.”
Luke trains with REACH Wrestling in Plymouth and wanted to launch a Saltash show as there are “not enough wrestling events” in the Plymouth area. The 31-year-old also wanted to do something “different” to raise money for charity.
He said: “When I was born at Freedom Fields Hospital in the 90s, I spent some time in the intensive care unit, which helped me survive. Through this event, we will raise money to support local families. I wanted to help,” he said.
The Keep Me Close Appeal helps provide accommodation for parents of babies staying in the NICU at Plymouth University Hospital. As many parents as possible can stay in unit-based on-site accommodation while their baby is on the ward.
On-site accommodation is currently only able to accommodate 4 groups of parents. Many extremely premature babies are expected to spend more than 100 days in the hospital, which can be very costly for families.
Tamer Community Wrestling’s family-friendly non-profit event supports the Keep Me Close Appeal. Tickets for the wrestling show at Saltash Social Club on March 9th at 6:30pm are available here.
If you can’t make it to the wrestling show, you can still donate to Luke’s Plymouth Hospital charity fundraiser here.
