A woman who made spaghetti bolognese using only a microwave has divided opinions online.
Whitney Ainscough, from South Yorkshire, has shared a ‘quick and easy way’ tutorial for making classic Italian dishes.
More than 1.7 million people have already watched her video, posted on TikTok under the handle @itsmebadmom, with commenters wondering what to make of the cooking hack.
In the video, she grabs a bag of frozen mince and a plate of chopped onions as she prepares for dinner.
She instructed viewers to “come and make some tea with us.” So, transfer the frozen mince into a jug and put it in the microwave. ”
The TikToker filled a plastic jug to the brim with mince and scraped raw onions on top.
She added: “This is for spaghetti bolognese and can be cooked in the microwave.” Put everything in.
“You might want to add the onions and mix them in. Add the onions to the jug as well.
“You can just put it in the microwave and it will cook deliciously. Once it’s cooked down, you can add more onions.”
She put her jug in the microwave and explained, “I’ll leave it in there for about 10 minutes and come back when it’s done.”
She then returns to photograph the results and pulls out a jug of cooked mince and onions.
The mum, from South Yorkshire, said: ‘I left this in for about 10 minutes and stirred it halfway through.’
“It looks nice. af****** How to make spaghetti bolognese in the microwave.
“All you have to do is add chopped tomatoes, pepper, salt and garlic.
“Add all this in here, let it come back for about 5 minutes, and you’re ready to go.” Add your pasta to the jug as well. ”
While some viewers praised the clever mom, others were quick to slam her unique cooking method, claiming it takes the same amount of time as cooking a meal in a pot using fresh ingredients.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” one shocked user wrote, adding: “I love lazy tea but if you’re going to make spag bol.” [sic]just make spag bol.
A third agreed: “Public service announcement, you can now cook frozen mince straight from the pot.”
Meanwhile, others joked: “Spaghetti Bora Council Estate” and “Are you on Just Eat?”
Another said: “When I saw the frozen mince I should have scrolled past it, but I was curious.”
Another added: “Is this legal?” “Heating up beans in the microwave is a hassle.” This made me feel so much better. ”
Some viewers commented on the state of the microwave, writing one with a crying emoji and one saying, “Look at the microwave,” and another saying, “Oh my god, look at the microwave.” [has] He has been through two wars. ”
However, some people came to the mother’s defense, claiming the video could be useful for people who don’t have access to an oven.
One viewer said: “It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who don’t have cooking utensils, being able to eat a healthy meal could be a lifesaver.”
Another posted: “I didn’t know you could make mince in the microwave.”
A third claimed: “This is a very good video for people who don’t have access to other facilities, perhaps because they’ve just moved into a new home or can’t afford a cooker.”
“In terms of giving people new ideas, I really think this is a good thing for people who don’t have a choice.”
This comes after Whitney previously gained views by making a video about her daughter’s school shoes.
She revealed on TikTok last September that she shelled out £100 to buy her daughter the best designer shoes for back-to-school, only to be disappointed when she was told they didn’t meet school uniform regulations.
The mother-of-three explained how she bought her 11-year-old daughter a pair of Vivienne Westwood pumps when she started Year 7, but was left angry when the school contacted her. .
She added that she bought her daughter new school shoes and insisted that fashion choices do not affect a child’s ability to learn.
