In a game, there are few things I love more than a beautiful pixel art style and an interesting story that encourages you to explore everything the title has to offer. That’s exactly what you’ll see in the upcoming games from Little Night Games. Indie Metroidvania, The Legend of Mira and Jin.
Inspired by Moroccan culture, this 2D platformer is the indie studio’s debut title and follows an intrepid treasure hunter who discovers a sleeping djinn named Mira while exploring the depths of an ancient ruin. Yuba will star. Mira has no memory of why she was sealed there in the first place, and has been in a 1000 year sleep. From the synopsis: In order to help her escape from her ruins and rediscover her lost memories, the two form a sacred bond and uncover the secret lore behind the game world. Set off on an adventure.
The combat system is extremely satisfying, and the art direction, which I absolutely adore, is already shaping up to be incredibly appealing, so that’s what I invested in. It’s a legend. The developers have released details surrounding a number of important locations, including Amazgesh. Amazgesh is a kingdom that once had peace between humans and djinn, but was left in ruins after an event known as the Fall turned it into a “wilderness of death and nothingness.” Almost all of the djinn have disappeared and humans are struggling to survive, but no one knows how it happened because it happened so long ago. Of course, it’s up to us to discover that, and I’m also very interested in discovering Mila’s backstory.
When it comes to side-scrolling action, you’ll acquire a plethora of weapons, abilities, tools, and skills along your journey, allowing you to perform flashy attacks that look vibrant. All four weapons can be seamlessly swapped out during combat, so you can switch up your approach to combat whenever you like, and all can be upgraded to unlock new combo attacks.
Meanwhile, Little Knight Games hints on the game’s Steam page that some of the special abilities are additions that “we’ve always wanted to see in a Metroidvania,” so it looks like we can expect some unique mechanics there. Many of them are used not only for combat, but also for environmental applications.
Mira and the Legend of the Djinns will be released on PC via Steam later this year. According to the Steam page, it is expected to be released sometime during the second quarter of 2024, suggesting it could be released between early April and the end of June. Masu.
