Smartwatches are great for tracking your steps, recording your exercise, and even reminding you that you had a poor night’s sleep the night before.
But they aren’t really suitable for pairing with a nice suit or showing off your personal style.
Ganance Heir is looking to change that. It’s a new smart disc that attaches to your favorite watch, giving it the power of a smartwatch without changing the beautiful look of what’s on your wrist. It’s available for pre-order on their website now, with products expected to start shipping later this summer.
The 3mm disc attaches to the back of the watch case via micro-suction, fitting snugly against the skin. It comes equipped with features commonly found on popular smartwatches, including tap-based controls, health tracking, and notifications, all controlled by a compatible mobile app. For now, the app is only available for iPhone, but the brand’s website says Android compatibility will be announced in the future.

When you launch the app, you can view stats like steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, active days, etc. You can also set custom alerts, such as a reminder to take a break and stand up if you normally work at a desk or are sedentary.
The disc itself runs on a battery that lasts for about 42 hours – longer than the Apple Watch and most other smartwatches – and can be charged using the included charging dock.
Ganance Heir can be applied to any watch you own. It sticks easily to a variety of surfaces and leaves no residue, so you can match your watch to any outfit or occasion without losing your tracking data.
However, you might want to think twice before running a marathon in your grandfather’s old Patek Philippe.
