Slime Rancher 2 Thanks to the Gadgets My Way update, things are getting even weirder. The latest patch for this top-rated Steam Early Access slime farming sim adds over 30 gadgets and items, ranging from the mundane to the outrageous, and completely revamps the building system and more.
It may still be in early access, but Slime Rancher 2 has no shortage of satisfied customers. He has a 94% positive rating on Steam, and the “Gadgets My Way” update is set to make this silly farming game even more appealing.
As the title suggests, Slime Rancher 2 is a wall-to-wall beast. These little creatures come in all shapes and sizes, including the ridiculously adorable raccoon-like ringtail slime. It’s a game that developer Monomi Park literally oozes with charm.
But you can’t just hang around all day looking at slimes in Slime Rancher 2. You need to feed them, breed them, and make sure they don’t have anything else for dinner. The gadgets featured in this update will make these tasks a little easier and encourage you to “build for efficiency,” as promoted in the trailer.
You can shoot things from a cannon or watch slimes run around on a Ferris wheel. There are a total of 36 new items, including Easy Breezy Fans, Striking Streamers, Round Bumpers, Boomboxes, and Fire Flowers (we hope Nintendo doesn’t sue over that last item).
But that’s not all. As detailed in Slime Rancher 2’s latest patch notes, the building system and UI have received a major overhaul. Previously, the game limited where you could place certain items, but now you can place them anywhere.
“This update not only makes it easier to build your dream ranch, but also enhances the process of discovering and cataloging your collection of unique slimes and gadgets,” Monomi Park explains. There are other ways to interact with slime, but if you pet it, you may need to wash your hands afterwards.
The Gadgets My Way update for Slimer Rancher 2 is out now and is currently 30% off on Steam. If you’re looking to share the fun, you’ll want to know if Slime Rancher 2 has co-op play. Or, if you’re looking for an even more wholesome way to fool around, check out the best relaxing games.
